I'm Amanda. I'm a wife, mother, teacher and musician. I'm a working mom who, while I LOVE what I do, wishes I could be a stay at home mom so I could spend more time crafting, sewing, cooking and most importantly spending time with my baby girl. My husband gets to be a stay-at-home-dad...I'm jealous...
PANDIOLA LANE
Pandiola is a made up word that I came up with when I was 14 and was registering my first email address with Juno so I could send crazy email forwards back and forth with my friends. (You know the "send this to 10 people in the next 10 minutes or you will have bad luck in love for the next 10 years" forwards? Yeah, I was sucked into those.)
When I was just a baby, my Auntie Cindy gave me a stuffed panda and named it Amanda Panda. I've been called "Panda" and "Manda Panda" at various points in my life ever since; most recently my brother and sister-in-law ONLY call me Panda and it sounds weird when they actually say my real name.
Thus, Panda (Pand-).
I am a violist. (I play the viola for those who are unfamiliar with that term.) If you don't know what a viola is, google it for goodness sake! When I was in 4th grade, I had never heard of it so I thought that would be a fun instrument to play. I've been playing ever since, when to college for music (music education actually) and now I'm teaching middle and elementary school orchestra. It's a part of me. Thus, viola (-iola).
My 14 year old brain thought it sounded cool to smash the two words together.
And Lane is my middle name.
So there you have it!
